This week Chuck Beall of Durango Homes was the first of two speakers who came to rebut arguments advanced last week by Duke Energy in support of its Gail Windpower project.
Mr. Beall went through various problems he anticipates from the Duke Energy proposal, including excessive noise and interference with wildlife (noting that 25% of the projected sites are within three miles of Lake Michigan contrary to U.S. Fish & Wildlife recommendations). Mr. Beall believes the project would adversely affect the healh of nearby residents and reduce the value of their property. Contrary to Duke' assertions, Mr. Beall believes that the project would result in job losses rather than gains. He urged us all to do our homework on the question.
