Executive Director Tad Peacock summarized what the Conservation District is doing within Benzie County.
Operating on a June 2010 millage, the Conservation District is involved a number of projects. In addition to its annual sale of seedlings, the District is engaged in water testing on Crystal and the Herring Lakes, as well as mapping invasive species. Upcoming programs include a tour of Benzie County lakes and the Betsie River Clean Sweep on June 22. Conservation District employees are available to assist property owners with questions about invasive species, shoreline erosion and a host of other environmental issues.
