Certified Peer Recovery Coach Scott Scholten's job is to offer "A Lifeboat of Hope in a Sea of Despair."

Based on his personal experience Scott says that recovery from addiction is possible for everyone. As a recovery coach, speaker and advocate, he carries this message to a wide variety of individuals and groups.  He is part of a team working at the 86th District Sobriety Court in Traverse City that recognizes that incarceration is no answer for those who run afoul of the law due to addiction. He also works at Pine Rest in Traverse City and with the Behavioral Health Department at the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians.

Scott says that the ongoing opioid epidemic and alcoholism are reaching into our schools; consequently, there is a big focus on emergency rooms and schools. Scott is always available to speak with those suffering from addiction.
