Kelly Ignace returned to Sunrise Rotary to talk about Mariposa Pathway, a non-profit organization that offers programs for young women (18 - 25 years old) who have experienced significant challenges. The Pathway's mission is to teach these women to identify their strengths and to empower them to make personally authentic and courageous choices.

Established in Austin, Texas, Mariposa Pathway has developed programs to help participants release their emotional pain and help themselves create a better future.  The three basic programs are a seven-day residential retreat, a three-day "Power Pathway," and a two-hour "Taking Flight" get-together.

Mariposa set up its Michigan operations in Traverse City a year and a half ago. At this point the organization is looking first for participants, but also for "Colleagues" and others in supporting roles, including volunteers, facilitators, sponsors and donors. Further information about Mariposa is available on its website.
