Our own Barb Skurdall explained that flexibility, strength and balance are important to all of us.  Strength and balance are important not only with regard to the performance of our favorite forms of exercise, but also in preventing falls. 
 
Barb explained that the best way to support flexibility, balance and strength is by doing functional exercises--three-dimensional exercises that look like what you want to do, such as rotational exercises if you are a golfer. As is clear from the photo below, Barb' presentation was aided by props (as well as by smart remarks from the crowd).
