Marcin Swierkot, the exchange student from Poland jointly sponsored by the Frankfort and Sunrise Clubs, said goodbye.

Unlike most exchange students, Marcin spent all eleven months here with one host family--one with Polish roots. He particularly enjoyed spending time with the expanded family for holidays as well as his 18th birthday, when they sang "Happy Birthday" to him in Polish.

During his time here Marcin attended Frankfort High School, where he especially enjoyed sports and social events, participating in cross country, skiing and track.  He also traveled to a variety of locations including California, which he described as a dream trip.

In concluding Marcin thanked all of us for making his exchange trip possible.  He demonstrated what Rotary must have had in mind in establishing its student exchange program.
