Dr. Anibal Pepper told us about his past twenty missions to Peru, as well as the 2012 one he is planning that will include local Rotarians.

A member of the American Board of Surgery and the Peruvian American Medical Society (and a Crystal Lake resident), Dr. Pepper described by words and photographs the inspiring accomplishments of his medical missions. Typically the missions involve a week of work followed by five or six days of travel to such places as Machu Pichu and Cusco. Some of the sites are at high elevations, and Dr. Pepper described how to deal with high-altitude travel. He also told us how to cope with other health hazards of tropical travel.

Dr. Pepper is organizing another mission for 2012--probably around Memorial Day--and is hoping to have Rotarians from the Frankfort and Beulah Clubs on the trip. One need not have medical credentials to apply!
