Rick Robb was the first half of the Cuba program.
 
Rick was in Cuba as a Road Scholar, the new name for the Elderhostel programand one of only two U.S. companies authorized to provide cultural excange travel to Cuba. He provided a history of Cuba from its discovery by Christopher Columbus in 1492 through the Batista and Castro years. Much of the country's workforce is on the government payroll, and he described the attitude of present-day workers as "They pretend to pay us, and we pretend to work."
