Chicks and Salsa: Benzie County's New Incubator Kitchen

Grow Benzie is a non-profit committed to small business initiatives that help our community.  Its Incubator Kitchen is a licensed commercial facility that can be used for the production of food for wholesale or retail sales. It is also a place where one can learn to be a successful entrepreneur.

 

Modeled after an incubator kitchen in Hart, Michigan, the Grow Benzie Incubator Kitchen had its grand opening this past June.  Agriculture and food manufacturing are growth areas in this part of the state, and the goal of the Incubator Kitchen is to help people launch food-product businesses.  In that regard Grow Benzie is holding a series of workshops covering everything from getting started to financing to packaging and sales.  It seeks to inspire people and is looking for volunteers in the community willing to help.
