Tad Peacock is the Executive Director of the Benzie Conservation District.

Tad has seen many changes in the Conservation District since his hiring in 2008, mostly due to two successful millage drives. While the first vote was a squeaker, the recent one passed by 1,700 votes. These millages have allowed the District to conduct many events to educate the public and clean up our lakes and streams. By the end of this month the District will have conducted more than twenty events this year.

The mission of the Conservation District is "To preserve and enhance the natural resources of Benzie County."  While this encompasses a number of areas-- education, water quality, invasive species, forestry and agriculture--the District's number one priority is the protection of Benzie County's lakes and streams.
