Amy Green on her year in Brazil as an exchange student

Amy lived with three different families in a small city in the middle of Brazil.  A highlight of her time there was the trip in which she and other Rotary exchange students saw all the major cities, including Rio de Janiero, where they saw the Olympic Stadium.  In addition to watching a soccer game there the students saw some of Brazil's natural attractions, including the Iguazu Falls.  They also spent a week on the Amazon River by boat, where they saw all sorts of creatures and slept in hammocks.

 

Amy became close friends with several other exchange students with whom she is in touch almost daily.  Amy said that her experience as an exchange student "opened up the world" for her, giving her a new sense of independence.
