Dawn Olney educated the Club on the many duties of the County Clerk.

In addition to being County Clerk, one holding that office in Michigan also serves as Clerk to the Circuit Court.  Responsibilities in that regard include handling records of adult felonies, civil cases, adoptions, parental waivers, dba forms and notary applications.

Dawn also performs civil marriage ceremonies, almost always in court. Other functions falling within the scope of her job relate to concealed pistol applications, jury boards, elections and the County Board of Commissioners.  Dawn also assumed responsibilities when the County Administrator was removed from office.

 This elected job clearly is an important one.
