Melia Lorenz receives Service Above Self award from Andy Ashworth.
Nominated by Kirsten Cline, Melia is an extremely well-rounded student with wide-ranging interests and activities. She has participated in theatre, chamber choir and varsity softball. In addition to working in Youth Advisory Council and the Young Peacebuilders Club, Melia has recently received recognition for her work with the Remembering Benzie Oral History Project. To top it all off, she returned in February from a mission trip with Benzie Sunrise Rotary's Jeff and Katie Rabidoux and Mitch Deisch to the Dominican Republic where she learned that her true passion is helping others, especially those in need.
Melia will continue her education at Columbia College in Chicago where she will study journalism.
