Ismael Haleweh and Makayla Huddleston report on their experience at Tustin.
Ismael and Makayla--soon to be juniors at Benzie Central High School--were two of 149 students from eleven countries attending this year's Rotary-sponsored Life Leadership Conference. In a video they had prepared for their presentation they told how the conference was intended not only to make attendees better leaders, but also better people.

In their remarks following the video Ismael and Makayla said that they intend to bring an Interact club to Benzie Central.  Interact is Rotary International’s service club for young people ages 12 to 18. Interact clubs are sponsored by individual Rotary clubs that provide support and guidance, but they are self-governing and self-supporting. The new club would have twin goals of local community service and developing international understanding. Needless to say, this announcement blew away the Sunrise Rotarians.
