Jose Miguel Athie compares his time in Benzie County with life at home in Mexico.

Jose, the second of two exchange students jointly sponsored by the Sunrise and Frankfort Clubs, is a native of Tehuacan, a city with strong Rotary connections located three hours from Mexico City. He gave us a PowerPoint program on his home and culture, with photos of his home and family. Also included were photos from a family vacation at Huatulco, where Jose caught a most impressive sailfish.

Among other interesting things we learned that tacos in Mexico taste nothing like those found here and that Mexicans don't eat burritos or chili. Jose just turned 16 and is in his second year of high school at home but is a senior at Benzie Central. He hopes to have a future in engineering.
