Renee Hintz, Executive Director of the Legacy Art Park, thanked us for our support and provided an update on activities at the Park.
This year the Benzie Sunrise Rotary Foundation gave grants to the Legacy Art Park of $1,000 for its Looking to Learn program and $500 for its Summer Concert Series. Looking to Learn is an educational program, and the funds were used to bus students from 18 schools on field trips to the Park. The students were not only exposed to art, they also were able to get out and hike in an interesting location.
The Club has supported the Park's Summer Concert series for a number of years. Breaking even was the old goal for the series, but the event now makes money that the Park can use for its educational activities. Our Club receives sponsor recognition at every event, as well as a number of free tickets. Renee urged members to take attend these concerts to enjoy live music in an intimate setting among the trees in the heart of the Park, a venue recently upgraded.
