This week's club meeting was held at the Benzie Central Middle School where Rotarians, Teachers, Students and Administrators discussed the partnership between the Benzie Sunrise Rotary Club and Benzie Schools.

Each year a club meeting is held at the school to provide an update on how the Sunrise Rotary Club and the Benzie Schools have worked together during the year.

Our club sponsors and participates in a number of programs for Benzie Central School District students of all ages.  Programs include Reading is Fundamental and the Dictionary Program providing books to Elementary age Students, Career Day for 7th graders, the Choices Program for 8th grade Students, a trip to Michigan State University & Central Michigan University for the 8th grade, Interact Club for middle and high school age Students, Service Above Self Awards for Middle School and High School Students, Scholarships, the Strive program for at-risk High School Seniors, a service trip to the Dominican Republic and the Top 10 Awards Banquet.  In addition the club has provided financial support to various projects including Back the Track and annual trip to Chicago for Benzie Students.

Benzie Central Teachers and Administrators mentioned how they are grateful for not only the financial support but how Rotarians participate in the programs which means so much to the students.

Our club appreciates the opportunity to support our local schools and how the district has welcomed the Sunrise Rotary Club into their classrooms.  It is a unique partnership that is improving every year!
