Retired teacher Kris Dykstra maintains the library at Crystal Lake Elementary School, as well as creating monthly reading themes and engaging students in story time each week.

Kris says that  the students at Crystal Lake have many needs, including the need to listen to uplifting stories.  To help meet this need Kris not only volunteers one day a week at the school, she also buys books for the school library.  She demonstrated what she does for the students by reading aloud a book suitable for elementary students about a girl who could not read.  She concluded her presentation by urging us to consider supporting her work at the school library through the purchase of books.
