Benzie Central Odyssey of the Mind Team

Pre-school teacher Bianca McLaren has been the Coordinator for the Benzie Central Middle School Odyssey of the Mind Team for six years.

This is an exciting time for the Benzie OM team, as a gold medal at the regional competition in Traverse City meant qualification for the World Finals this May in East Lansing. Bianca told how teams are assigned problems that they approach with their own creative spin. She introduced team members, who in turn explained their use of a video-game format to deal with the assigned topic of Opening Pandora's Box.

After spending countless hours in preparation, the team is now concentrating on fund-raising for the trip. Anyone interested in supporting the Team is invited to take advantage of the Team's car wash from 11 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 11 at Crystal Lake Elementary School.
